【摘要】:Operatingexperienceofgasturbinesanddieselengineshasshownthatsomeoftheash-formingsubstancespresentinafuelcanleadtohightemperaturecorrosion,ashdeposition,andfuelsystemfouling.Ash-formingmaterialsmaybeinafuelasoil-solublemetallo-organiccompoundsaswater-solublesaltsorassolidforeigncontamination.Theirpresenceandconcentrationvarieswiththegeographicalsourceofacrudeoilandtheyareconcentratedintheresidualfractionsduringtherefiningprocess.Althoughdistillatefueloilsaretypicallycontaminantfree,ash-formingmaterialsmaybeintroducedlaterintheformofsalt-bearingwaterorbycontactwithotherpetroleumproductsduringtransportationandstorage.SpecificationsofgasturbineanddieselenginefuelsandthesignificanceofcontaminationandtracemetalsaredetailedinSpecificationsD2880andD975.5.1.1Pre-conditioningofthefuelbeforeitreachesthegasturbineordieselenginehasbecomeaprerequisiteforinstallationsthatuseheavypetroleumfuel,andalsoforsitesthatuselightdistillatefueloils.On-sitefuelanalysistodeterminetheextentofcontaminationisanintegralpartofafuelqualitymanagementprogram.Itisusedfirsttodeterminetheextentoftherequiredtreatment,andlater,theeffectivenessofthetreatment.Itstartswiththedeliveryofthefuel,continuesthroughoutfuelhandlingandendsonlyasthefuelisinjectedintotheturbineorengine.5.1.2Fuelcontaminationspecificationsvaryamongthedifferentgasturbinemanufacturers.However,withoutexception,eachrequiresthatcontaminantsmustbeaslowaspossible.Inmostpowergenerationinstallations,itistheownerwhohastheresponsibilityofverifyingfuelcleanlinessincompliancewiththeturbinemanufacturerrsquo;warrantyspecifications.Thisleadstoanon-siteanalyticalinstrumentperformancerequirementofbelow1.0mg/kgforseveralelements.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofcontaminantsandmaterialsasaresultofcorrosioningasturbineordieselenginefuelsbyrotatingdiscelectrodeatomicemissionspectroscopy(RDE-AES).1.1.1ThetestmethodisapplicabletoASTMGrades0-GT,1-GT,2-GT,3-GT,and4-GTgasturbinefuelsandGradesLowSulfurNo.1-D,LowSulfurNo.2-D,No.1-D,No.2-D,andNo.4-Ddieselfueloils.1.1.2Thistestmethodprovidesarapidat-sitedeterminationofcontaminationandcorrosiveelementsrangingfromfractionsofmg/kgtohundredsofmg/kgingasturbineanddieselenginefuelssothefuelqualityandlevelofrequiredtreatmentcanbedetermined.1.1.3Thistestmethodusesoil-solublemetalsforcalibrationanddoesnotpurporttoquantitativelydetermineordetectinsolubleparticles.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thepreferredunitsaremg/kg(ppmbymass).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
